The Hôpital Pourtalès vineyards are terraced and almost in one piece, covering 12 hectares in the Entre-deux-Lacs region. The entire vineyard has been certified organic since 01.01.2021.
With its sheltered, sunken position and abundant sunshine, this corner of the world is ideally suited to producing expressive white and red wines.
The Chasselas, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties sink their roots into purple and ochre rocky soil, rich in minerals and low in organic matter. The clay-limestone nature of this soil allows the plants to give the best of themselves, with the help of the Entre-deux-Lacs microclimate.
At Domaine Hôpital Pourtalès, the head oenologist and his team of winemakers work to enhance these qualities through their know-how and care. They draw on the experience accumulated by previous generations, while remaining open to new growing and winemaking techniques.
