Pourtalès Hospital Foundation
By purchasing Domaine Hôpital Pourtalès wines, you are directly supporting projects aimed at improving the well-being of patients treated at the Hôpital Pourtalès (rHNe).
On 14 February 1808, Jacques-Louis de Pourtalès signed the deed of foundation of the Pourtalès Hospital.
From the outset, the aim of the Hôpital Pourtalès was to provide a home and care for destitute people of all religions and nationalities living in the Neuchâtel region.
Count Thierry de Pourtalès represents the 8th generation to succeed Jacques-Louis de Pourtalès and presides over his ancestor's foundation.
Today, the Fondation de l'Hôpital Pourtalès continues to pursue the aims of its founder and donates its annual profits to the well-being of patients at the Hôpital Pourtalès and other establishments in the Neuchâtel hospital complex.
In addition to the yield from its vineyard in Cressier, the foundation can rely on the real estate it owns in Neuchâtel, the profits from which are also fully invested for the benefit of patients, in accordance with the wishes of Jacques-Louis de Pourtalès and his descendants.

Projects supported by the Pourtalès Hospital Foundation
Since 1808, the Pourtalès Hospital Foundation's income has been used to finance and develop the Pourtalès Hospital on a regular basis. In 2012, it opened up the possibility of financing projects on other sites that are part of the hospitals of Neuchâtel.
In recent years, the Foundation has financed beds for the new Hôpital Pourtalès, among other projects. It has also made a significant contribution to the reorganisation of the mother and child unit in Neuchâtel by donating various items of medical equipment. It has also built the hospital crèche in Neuchâtel and supported the renovation of rooms at the Hôpital de la Chaux-de-Fonds.
In 2012, the Foundation decided to donate two ultrasound scanners for the maternity wards at Hôpital Pourtalès, and to finance the installation of televisions in all the rooms at Hôpital de La Chaux-de-Fonds.
The Foundation, which owns buildings close to the Pourtalès Hospital, rents them to the latter to enable it to house its staff in good conditions.
